Welcome to the UPWORK platform!

This online space has been specifically created to assist trainers working with learners who have special needs, as well as the learners themselves who wish to develop skills in the hospitality and event management sectors.

Through this platform, UPWORK project strives to foster an inclusive, accessible, and engaging learning environment where everyone can acquire the knowledge and practical skills necessary to thrive in one of the most dynamic and people-centered industries.

Our project acknowledges the unique talents and potential of learners with diverse abilities, and we are dedicated to provide customized learning paths, interactive resources, and practical activities that make professional training both significant and attainable.

What you will find here:

• 9 presentations aimed at special needs learners, divided into 2 sections: 5 universal skills presentations (Introduction to the Hospitality and Services Industries, Workplace Competencies, Communication, Personal Development & Competence Building, and Job Search and Employment Preparation) and 4 job-specific skills presentations tailored for the UPWORK project (kitchen personnel, waiter/waitress, receptionist, and housekeeping personnel).

• 5 learning units for trainers (1st Understanding Special Needs Learners and the Hospitality Industry, 2nd Effective Communication & Interaction, 3rd Pedagogical Approaches and Methods, 4th Micro-Credentials and Open Badges, and 5th Professional Development and Continuous Improvement).

At the conclusion of the trainer course and each presentation for special needs learners, there is a quiz to assess your understanding. If you pass, you will earn an Open Badge that certifies your acquired competences.
